Deutsche Bahn - At the main Train Station of Weimar Let's take a break and "eine rauchen…" In a weekend's time I had to learn about the responsibilities of an employee working at the German Railways. Having to deal with re-scheduled timetables, angry passengers who forgot their stuff in the train, and many other kinds of unexpected (not for them though) incidents, is not such an easy job. This job is hard. Working there, one has to be patient, calm, always polite, and ready to face the different occurrences. Working there was one of my best experiences, being treated more as a guest and less as a guest-worker. At the same time I had the feeling that the administrator wanted to present to me, being the representative of the "outside" world, the best face of the German Railways services, one of the most neuralgic agencies in the country. Remarkable was …the extremely detailed introduction which was given to me by the station's director Mr. Detlef Welker on the employee's behavior for security reasons inside the train station, as well as what one should follow before, after and while working there ... the kind attitude of all of the employees I collaborated with. |
